Family Sessions

A session with your family is a great way to preserve your life as it is now. These sessions are centered on a specific activity or family tradition and can showcase a day, an afternoon, or just an hour in your family’s life.

High School/College Sessions

This session is a great way to preserve those final, beautiful moments with your high school or college group of friends before you head off to the next phase of life. We can plan a session that includes a final party or a tour of your favorite places around town or campus, or tell your graduation story.

Non-profit Sessions

A non-profit session is a great way to tell the full story of what your non-profit does and whom it serves. These sessions can center around a specific event or person, or we can plan a full-day session that will equip your organization with a wide range of photos that will help to tell the complete story of your organization. These photos can serve as an essential marketing tool for your organization for years to come.

Event Sessions

Whether you are planning a festival, producing a show, hosting a gallery opening or holding a fundraiser, documentary photography is a great way to capture all of the action. These photos will not only tell the story of your event but serve as beautiful keepsakes for those involved or in attendance.

The Studio 1825 Process

Session Planning

Focused on You

When clients book a session with Studio 1825, I spend time getting to know them — their interests, habits, routines and traditions — so that we can build a session that truly captures the personality, dynamics and relationships of your family or group at that phase of life.

Before each photo session, we will sit down for a cup of coffee or a phone call to plan a custom photography session that revolves around the routine activities, special events, family outings or unique traditions that make up your story. For a family session, this may include making dinner together, telling bedtime stories, playing board games, celebrating a birthday, baking for the holidays or having a picnic in the park — it all simply depends on you. This personalized approach means that every one of my photo sessions is different and unique to your family or group.

Photo Editing & Retouching

As part of our dedication to capturing the authentic, imperfect beauty of real life, Studio 1825 Photography performs only minimal retouching of photographs taken. We are committed to photographing the beauty in your story and interactions with loved ones.

  • With every client, we make every possible effort to photograph clients in attractive or flattering light/angles/compositions, and to minimize unflattering angles/light/composition.

  • Our photos are unfiltered and true to life. Permanent or semi-permanent aspects of one’s appearance are not edited out/retouched. This includes things like wrinkles, scars, freckles, braces, hair cut/style, facial shape/features, body shape/features, etc.  Many times, these features help to tell the amazing story of who a person is at that moment in time. We at Studio 1825 try to stay as true to your unfiltered, authentic story as possible while photographing your best moments in the best light available.

  • Temporary aspects of one’s appearance may be edited/retouched since these do not alter the client’s story in a meaningful way. This includes things like occasional blemishes, slight weight gain after pregnancy, or clothing that happened to behave oddly during a particular moment.

Our clients’ trust is paramount, and we want every client to feel comfortable in front of our lens, so we are open to having a discreet conversation if you have additional specific concerns in this regard that you want to ensure we consider. Please feel free to email us or let us know at the consultation before the session. All correspondence of this nature will be kept confidential by Studio 1825.

Photo Reveal & Prints

Once I have processed and edited your photos, I will then schedule a photo reveal with you and your family or group for a first look at all of the photos from your session.

During this reveal, we can also look at ways to turn these photos into fine art pieces for your home, including albums, framed prints, or beautifully mounted canvases. I can also provide guidance as to what pieces would work best in your home or business.

Once I submit your print order, your art pieces are delivered to and inspected by me, and then I will hand-deliver them to you. I also offer installation services for wall-mounted print products.
